The second half of the upcoming series of “The Hobbit” being directed by Peter Jackson, starring Luke Evans, Hugo Weaving and Evangeline Lilly is set to be released in theaters December of 2013 and has already began the early stages of production and filming. The movie is being filmed in New Zealand and is in need of extras, stand-ins, photo doubles and “size doubles” throughout filming.
The film is going to be one of the first to use special high-tech 3D cameras capable of shooting twice as many slides per second which will create one of the most high definition films ever to be shot.
Shooting for the film will be done over a 14 month period and New Zealand residents are encouraged to apply for parts in the film. Anyone hoping to be in the film who is not a resident will be required to have tourist visas and between the age of 18 and 30. Auditions for roles will also be held in LA, NY and London. All talent have to submit their contact information along with a head shot immediately to the casting department in order to be considered for the shoot. Open roles for featured talent, extras, and stand ins are available. All talent have to be comfortable working for long period of time if booked. If casting directors are interested in having you meet with the director and booking yourself then they will call you in for an audition. Talent of all ages are needed. Make sure to be prepared for the audition with your portfolio or comp card. Best of luck!
