Whether it’s a zombie takeover, or a virus that wipes out all mankind, we have seen it all. Hollywood directors like Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogan, don’t think so. Goldberg, who is well known for his written screenplay of “Superbad” and “Pineapple Express”, alongside Seth Rogan, came up with a brand new concept on how two guys take on; get this, the end of the world! Yes, it’s true. The film is called “The Apocalypse” and is scheduled to star Jonah Hill, James Franco, Seth Rogan, and Jay Baruchel. Although Seth Rogan is well known for his funny man antics as a star in recent films, he has his own twist on how the end of the world events will come undone.
Pineapple Express co-star James Franco will join Seth Rogan on this journey. James Franco is recently known for his “127 Hours” Oscar nominated role, along with his recent post-production film “Oz”, which just wrapped up in the mid-west and is scheduled to come out sometime this year. Jonah Hill is another familiar Oscar nominated actor, who will also be playing a vital role in this film. “The Apocalypse” is in writing and pre-production phases right now with Mandate Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment. All are on board, and the guys are back at it together in one film. It’s as if “Superbad” and “Pineapple Express” came together for this great comedy. The story will follow two actors as they survive the apocalypse.
In the meantime casting directors are working alongside production in casting the perfect supporting roles, body doubles, featured extras, and regular extras for the film. This feature length film is expected to be 2013’s comedy hit at the box office. If you are over the age of 4 and are interested in getting yourself some film experience whether on or off camera they are looking for you! Make sure to complete an application at a local casting company and submit some sort of headshot before heading to auditions. Auditions are scheduled over the next few months.
