A new show is coming to HBO and it is going to be following characters from the 1960’s who regularly go to the same horse-racing track, a subject that has engaged the original Writer of the screenplay that the show is based off of, David Milch, for a very long time. Casting calls will be held for various cities for HBO’s “Luck”. The show stars Dustin Hoffman who has just got out of prison and has a nasty habit of gambling. His driver informs Gus that he had recently become a legally registered horse owner. This is just a front for Gus’s boss. During this, a group of 4 lowlife gamblers are placing their bet on a horse that could change their lives forever. They place a $800 bet on a horse they believe is holding back during it’s opening trials. This bet is a long shot but, it would end up letting them win $2 million dollars between the four. Other actors featured on the show include Dennis Farina, John Ortiz, Richard Kind, Kevin Dunn, Michael Gambon, Ian Hart and more. The show is co-produced by Michael Mann and Carolyn Strauss.
The show will be making it’s debut in January and casting for extras on the show will be ongoing during production. Most shows through HBO lately have been huge successes such as Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Game of Thrones and more! Currently the show is seeking Men and women 18-60’s who can portray extras in the show. No previous experience is necessary to apply.
