FX made a comedic comeback last year with their original series “Wilfred” and their ‘precious’ star Elijah Wood, the actor behind the infamous “The Lord of the Rings” films. The Australian comedy show is set to broadcast for another season on FX. The network is originally well known for their comedy hit “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” which is also picked up for two more seasons according to the network. The president of the network informed audiences and colleagues that his goal of the network is to create five stable dramas and seven unbelievable comedies on the network concurrently over the next few years. He feels that “Wilfred” is definitely another stepping stone to the networks success. The man responsible for “Family Guy” and “American Dad” will also be tied to the writing of the show.
The story is based on an Australian show Jason Gann (the guy in the dog costume) starred in and co-created. Elijah Wood plays Ryan, a timid dude who has a hard time in life until he bumps into Wilfred who is played by Gann. Wilfred ends up becoming Ryan’s alter ego and reminds him daily to be more assertive about life.
The popular television series is now casting major roles for its second season and would like to see you come out for auditions. The stars of the show, Elijah Wood and Jason Gann are looking for the right group of actors to fill some missing voids in the script. Five roles have opened up for this season which will begin filming over the next few weeks. All talent interested need to apply to be considered for the casting call and make sure to include “Wilfred” in their submission.
