TNT started development for the new drama series Frankenstein. Feature writer James V. Hart (Dracula, Hook) and his son Jake Hart will write the project, a modern-day reworking of the classic Frankenstein mythology. Frankenstein actually originated on TV with the 2004 original movie/backdoor pilot Frankenstein on USA based on Dean Koontz who is the original writer of the book series. After the failed attempt with USA, TNT and Lionsgate has given the green light for the new show. The casting directors are now looking for several talent to play in the new Frankenstein. This is a great opportunity for fans of the book or anyone that is looking to break into the acting industry.
Frankenstein is set in present-day New Orleans and follows Victor Helios (Frankenstein) and his creation 200 years after they thought they killed each other in a battle in the Arctic,” TNT revealed in a release. “The creature has survived and Victor has used science to keep himself alive – and they’re now in the same city unbeknownst to each other. Victor has engineered a new race of bizarre beings who answer to him. No air dates have been set for the new show but we are going to let you know as soon as we find out more details.
