This Is The End star James Franco is starring in his newest film The Fixer about an Afghan journalist who relocates to Northern California, and ends up in the seedy underground of the bohemian community after trying to fight crime. Franco will play one of the leads — an unstable hot-tub mechanic named Lindsay, who is at the crux of Osman’s journey. The Fixer revolves around a 28-year-old former war journalist who accepts a job as a “petty crime reporter” at a small newspaper in a bohemian town in Northern California. With his experiences in Afghanistan behind him, he becomes drawn into conflict when he tries to turn his “menial job” overseeing the police turns into a crime fighter.
The idea for the film was inspired d by individuals called “fixers” who are hired by international journalists when they are in other countries to help them with translations and other arrangements that need to be made for the journalist abroad.

As a kid, I always loved stories. Didn’t we all? But the thing about stories that made me want to keep watching were always the actors. The emotion that shone through their voices and eyes.
