MTV Copycat

From the producers of The Bachelor comes a new singing competition on MTV called Copycat. If you have tried to get on The Voice or The X Factor and things didn’t work out do not worry because MTV is giving hopefuls the chance to be on their hit show. On Copycat, singers will battle it out on stage, doing their best to sound like their favorite recording artists, with the studio audience voting on each performance to determine who will go home empty-handed and who will win the grand prize and snatch the title of  Ultimate Copycat. The casting directors at MTV are now holding auditions for the singer who can best impersonate their favorite artist. Do not miss out on this chance submit your application now.

There are now words yet on the premier date for the new MTV television show but we do know that Copycat is set to air in the afternoon and hopefully grabbing the audiences that the beloved TRL had years ago. The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss is executive producer with Brendon Carter (Gene Simmons Family Jewels) will produce the show in where  performers will battle each other as they impersonate the sound of popular recording artists. The studio audience will vote on every performance, with the winner taking home a cash prize and the title of “Ultimate Copycat.”

The casting directors at MTV are now holding castings and auditions for aspiring singers and rappers. If you are interested in auditioning pleases submit your information along with a recent photo and contact information. I’ve been a die-hard fan of the Carpenters and Karen’s voice is such a treasure and one of the greatest in pop music, I love singing along with Karen and somehow I got a hang of it after a while. I also feel like I truly understand what Karen was trying to convey in each and every song that she sang. When I sing I know exactly how Karen would have interpreted it, I got better at not only emulating the sound but the feelings that poured into each tune.     I am from India. I listen to music and sing all the time and try to replicate the voices of my favourite artists, ‘artists’ Cus i have more than 1 Favurite artists.I am not a trained singer. I am totally raw. But when I sing in front of my friends or for my friends they just shout that I have got the voice! And I should definitely take my singing to the next level! I didn’t audition for singing shows in India because they mostly focus on the hindi cultured folk, rock etc songs. And I don’t do that… So according to me I will be a good fit for the show… So do I spare a chance?

  46. THIS should be interesting. I’m NOT 12, 15 or 22 years of age. I don’t have the perfect hourglass figure and I’m not tall, I’m your average medium height, medium built person.     My name is Anna Elise Melvin, I am a 24 year old, 4’11”, 102 lbs, blonde haired, blue-eyed vocalist. I have been to Hollywood Week twice for American Idol, and made the top 130 finalists for the second season of The Voice. Like most of the comments I ve read above, music is also my passion, but what sets me apart is my ability to sound like several different top 40 artists. Let me explain, I earned my Business Degree last May. I am proud of this for two reasons. First, i am dyslexic and school is very difficult for me, and secondly, it was important to my Dad that i finish my degree. I love my dad and wanted to make him proud. I paid for my degree by receiving a full scholarship to the U of M by being selected to perform in their elite top 40 touring band ,Memphis Sound Fusion. It was so much fun to perform all different types of music, and sing like all kinds of artists. I ve done Taylor Swift, Adelle, Jessie J, Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Pickler, Kelly Clarkson, and even some Celine. Well I started off early trying to imulate what I heard my mother cooking and cleaning to like earth wind and fire, commadores, stevie wonder ect… Then once I got to 4th grade i thought I was Micheal Jackson so I sung alot of his music that was out at the time. p.y.t. lady in my life..say say say.   118. I know that its a 1 in a billion chance to be casted but I’d like to say why singing is my passion. When I was 3 my parents would fight and fight all the time. I didn’t know what else to do do but also yell. I’d go in my room and just yell in different pitches. Not knowing what yelling was but it felt right. After awhile, the telling turned into melodies and singing. When I was 10 I started to get bullied in school. Kids would call me fat and ugly and stupid so I would brake down. I was diagnosed with depression anxiety disorder. I took pills and half the time I just wanted to die. I grew older, around 13/14 (I’m 15 by the way) and the bullying got worse. I went into a deep depression but all I knew how to do to get over all the pain was sing. I sung everyday all day. In the school bathrooms, on the school bus, at home, everywhere. People around would always say “girl you can sing” or “you have an amazing voice”. My main supporter is my mom. She’s always telling me how beautiful I am or that I’m worth living. She’s the reason I’m still here. I’m finally to the point where I want to share my story with others through music. Helping all those who are going through the same things in am. I love to sing and actually did tryout for the voice got to the third round of the auditioning and at the third room they said not strong enough. I want to prove to people that I can sing and while I’m singing put on a great show. The stage does freak me out but what would kill me is not being able to follow my dreams.
