Catfish on MTV is back for its third season and the show producers are looking for stories to follow so if you are in a online relationship that you have doubts about than they want to hear from you. The term “catfish” comes from the title of a 2010 documentary film, in which filmmaker Nev Schulman finds out that the 19 year old woman he’d been carrying on an online relationship with was not real, and the woman was found to be an online catfish. The show has quickly become one of MTV’s most popular shows and this is your chance to tell your story. The directors are searching for online relationships with people who have never met or seen each other on webcam.

I know most of the time it’s the person themselves asking for help, but I have a little different situation. My uncle has been talking with a very pretty girl from Washington state. He lives in WI. I believe since around August of last year I came upon noticing an instagram who I believe was a personal account of carnell breeding a former singer in a boy band group called B5. At first I didn’t notice I was following carnell until he posted up a picture of himself and his brothers holding up a poster of the B5 group so I decided to like the picture because I remember back in elementary school I used to always listen to them growing up with my childhood best friend. I also commented it mentioning how much of I fan I was and how I listened to their music growing up, he commented back then we went back and forth until I got the guts to DM him which I don’t usually do especially since this account could be fake but I’m a curious person. Once we got to texting which turned to like an every day thing I mentioned at on point how else could he prove he’s the actual brother from B5 so he had me request his actual fan instagram then took screen shots of the insta main page with his pictures to a screen capture on the page of the likes he’d receive from his fans plus to one of on his ‘edit profile’. Of course from watching this show and knowing a couple things before hand about making sure he says who he is and instead of always receiving pictures from carnell even though I’ve always wanted him to feel treated as everyone else I’ve came across my life. My name is Hailey Harden and I am 17 years old. In December I started talking to a guy named Adam Neadow.
We talked for a while and it became every day text messages, every night phone calls. But never a facetime. Never a skype. But occasionally a snap chat! So how can you fake a snapchat? I didn’t think it was possible. Until I found multiple fake social media profiles, with the pictures he had sent me. Even on snap chat.
Well I blew it off thinking it was just a coincidence until I found out that he had lied to me about his sister ,”Martina”.
Adam was in a car accident and suffered from a major head wound. While he was in and out of the hospital I was texting Martina.
She snap chatted me from his phone also!
Then not too long after he healed from his accident Martina vanished. Not a word from her. Until I stumbled upon Brittanya O’campo. She looked EXACTLY like Martina. And as a matter of fact, I had been sent pictures from Brittanya’s profiles. Adam had sent me pictures of Brittanya’s children and claimed they were his nephews. I found every picture he had sent me of his “nephews” on her pages.
So then I told my bestfriend and my exboyfriend. The three of us, looked into “Adam”.
We found that there were no records of Adam living in Virginia as he had claimed.
No records of and Adam Neadow at Virginia Tech, the school he said he attended.
And all of the phone numbers from his family and friends were TextNow numbers. Except his brother Nathan’s who ALSO had a girlfriend in Arkansas, where I live. His phone number was an Ohio phone number.
As the months went on I acted as if I had no clue and I believed every lie he told me. Well, I planned a spring break trip to surprise him and he told me he wouldn’t be able to get off work and see me! So I was going to go to Virginia and see him while I was staying in Maryland. Closer to the date of my departure he out of nowhere went to Florida with his brothers and his dad. We rarely talked while he was there so naturally I became fed up and started seeing my exboyfriend again. In December Adam and I had made plans to meet on June 3rd. Here in Arkansas. So I was going to wait to tell him what I knew untill then. But recently he found out that I was still hanging out with my exboyfriend Josh. Adam called me a cheater and when I told him everything I knew, he said “Dont call. Dont text me. Ever.”

Hi I am a teenager who is having enough of my Fathers fake girlfriend that he’s been with for the past few years (Not sure exactly how long but about 10 years or so now.) Hi! I’m a Colorado girl born and raised here! A couple months ago I met this guy on my instagram account named “Ethan”. He sent me a message on kik and from there we really hit it off. Of course kik has that camera where you can send a picture directly from it, and that’s how most people “prove that they are who they say they are.” Well this boy was eager to send me a picture through the camera to prove it was him. Immediately the next morning I got a kik message from a girl who claimed he was talking to her too. She sent me the “live” picture he sent her and it happened to match up perfectly to the one I received. So I did a little research. I found out there is an app called “Fake Camera” where you can select it while using an app such as kik to send a picture from your gallery that makes it seem as if it were just taken. And I didn’t stop there. I confronted him and asked him to send me two “live” photos through kik, which he did, but one happened to be cropped in a square. After this I quickly jumped on his instagram and began thumbing through his photos. It seems that in every picture there is a different phone, or an ipod, and the timeline just doesn’t match up. I immediately downloaded all his photos and began reverse searching them through Google and another website. None of the photos were linked anywhere else except one, and I couldn’t access the website. I currently do not have his number because I do not have a working phone, so we chat via kik or instagram. I have asked him to skype, but he claims he has no webcam and his phone is not compatible with skype even though it is an iPhone 5. His Facebook was just created and he has no friends on there, or connections. This is all too fishy for me, but I’m falling for the personality behind the screen. I have a story however it is not my own. It’s my sister’s. She’s been in an online relationship with a guy for a year and 7 months, but she’s never met him. There is no doubt in my mind that he is real, but there are things which make him look sketchy. My sister, even though she has doubts, refuses to seek help. Me and my sister both live in the UK, while her boyfriend lives in Utah – so there is a large distance between them. There have been many things which have caused my sister to doubt what the relationship is about. Recently she has saved up enough money to get a plane ticket to meet him, however when she has asked him to ask his mother about her staying over there, he hasn’t asked her yet. It’s been about two weeks since she’s asked him, and they have spoken about meeting before. My sister is 18, while I think her boyfriend is 19. He is still living with his parents, and hasn’t managed to keep a job for very long. He has diabetes type two and he finds that a struggle, and that effects him getting jobs and keeping them. My sister finds it frustrating because he plays video games, a LOT, and instead of going out and looking for a job to earn money to meet her, he’s sitting in his room, staying up late playing games. There have been times where he hasn’t spoken to my sister for weeks, and this causes my sister to grow frustrated and cautious. She doesn’t know what his life is actually like, and for all she could know, he could have another girlfriend on the side.
