Ben Affleck is returning behind the camera to direct Live By Night, a feature film adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s Prohibition-era crime novel. Three years ago Affleck stepped behind the camera to direct Argo his Oscar-winning film. Production is set to begin in November of 2015 in the Atlanta area.

Live By Night will follow the life of Joe Coughlin, the youngest son of a prominent Boston Police Captain, who defies his proper upbringing to climb the ladder of organized crime. A syndicate which takes him from the cities of Boston to Ybor City, Florida, to Havana, Cuba where he encounters ruthless criminals all fighting for their pieces of the American Dream.

Ben Affleck will not only direct the feature film he will also star in the film opposite Elle Fanning, Sienna Miller and Zoe Saldana. Affleck has recently wrapped filming on Batman vs. Superman and Suicide Squad. Fanning is currently filming Ballerina and has portrayed the voice of Winnie on The Boxtrolls. Miller is currently filming The Lost City of Z and has starred in recent films Mississippi Grind and Unfinished Business.  Saldana will star in the upcoming Avatar Sequels currently in pre-production. Saldana has played the voice Maria in The Book of Life and is portraying Nina Simone in the biopic Nina. There have been no other casting confirmation to date.

Live By Night will be produced by Warner Bros. and is slated for an October, 2016 release.

Casting Call Details

The casting team with Mindy Marin Casting has released a casting call for several male roles with female roles to be added at a later date.  The team is seeking males between the ages of 40 – 70 to portray a Prosecutor, Company Owners, Mob Bosses and Attorneys. To be considered for a role in Live By Night talent must be legally eligible to work in the entertainment industry in Georgia.
