The American comedy television pilot “Counter Culture” is in development for ABC. The television network is owned by The Walk Disney Company and is part of Disney-ABC Television Group. ABC is provides great daytime television, but over the past decade the network has enhanced and added value to their nightly television schedule. The network is responsible for television series such as Grey’s Anatomy, Primetime, Wipeout, 20/20, and Dancing With the Stars.
The remarkable project has MADtv’s Stephnie Weir in as a cast member. “Counter Culture” focuses on three aging sisters who run their family diner together in West Texas. The story maneuvers around a premise that sister to sister conflicts and everyday life struggles come in the way of getting the work done. Ken Howard, Delta Burke, and Margo Martindale are all part of this amazing cast. The three sisters are played by Margo, Delta, and Kerri Kenney. All three actresses are known for their work on films in the industry, while Kerri Kenney is well known for her role on RENO 911 as Deputy Trudy Wiegel. While Ken Howard is very well known for his recurring role as Hank Hooper on the Emmy winning television series “30 Rock”.
The pilot is directed by Ted Wass, and the casting directors are looking to book six roles to add on to the cast, as well as stand-ins, recurring roles, featured extras, and extras. This sitcom comes from the producer of “Friends With Benefits”. The pilot episode will begin filming Mid-April and all roles are being cast now.
