About the Show

The show is being produced by Another Creature Productions for the Toronto Fringe Festival, 2016. The show will be directed by Taylor Hammond and produced by Laura McCallum and Julia Pesic. The contact person for casting is Benjie Kibblewhite who is the production stage manager.

Synopsis

Penelope and Boñita are not just professional partners but also companions. The two characters provide euthanasia to the rich people who are terribly sick and struggling with life. However, the service that they prove is not legal. When an investigation is started by the local authorities in response to the strange deaths occurring in the city, the couple begins to devise a plot to stay anonymous while remaining in business.

Role Description

The production team will be casting for the following roles:

Female to Play Boñita (Bunny)

Boñita is an illegally practicing thanatist who is also a robber. She is aged between 50 and 75 years. She lives and works with her companion, Penguin. She is an archivist by hobby. She wants to retire from her current lifestyle.

Female to Play Penelope (Penguin)

Penguin is also an illegally practicing anesthetist and a robber. She is aged between 20 and 30 years. She was previously a student of medicine. She is Bunny’s work mate and companion. She has an unapologetic character and wants to spend a decent lifestyle and has her focus on earning capital. She possesses a strong will.

Male to Play Byron

Byron is a professional freelance robber. He works on the outskirts of a certain town where he first interacts with Penguin and Bunny. He aids the two ladies on the so-called big heist which was specifically designed so that Boñita can retire. He becomes Bunny’s boyfriend and which is probably the reason why he becomes both distrusted and desired by Penelope. He is aged between 35 and 55 years.

Male to Play José

José happens to be a male fashion costume designer. He sets up an elegant party at the night of planned and assisted death. He is 25 years old.

Female to Play Hilda

Hilda is José’s sibling. She is the one who organizes a lavish and flamboyant party on the night he is to be euthanized. She is also around 25 years of age.

Female to Play Captain Hillary

She is a figure of authority and makes an appearance in the last scene. Throughout the performance, simply her voice is heard. She is a woman of 60 years.

Male to Play Sergeant Gerard

This is a highly authoritative and estimable figure who makes an appearance in the last scene of the show. Throughout the theatrical performance only his voice is heard on the radio.

Auditions

The auditions will take place on the following date and time:

• 7^th April 2016 between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM

• 8^th April 2016 between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM

**Important Note: The auditions will take place during the given time slot but the production team will give a response to every individual email submission by providing a specific time to every candidate**

The call back time will be announced later after a discussion with the ones who will be considered for the roles.
